This would be Great, but they haven’t even released the S2 yet in the U.S. ?

Is that what the delay has been, waiting, to release the Plus first ?

Just release one of them in the U. S. Soon I’m so tired of waiting

Wow…really? They moved from 1.2Ghz to 1.4Ghz…not that much of a big difference.

Any word on the Plus or US version having NFC?

Arjun June 27, 2011 at 7:30 pm

I wouldn’t be surprised if NFC comes into play in the “Plus” model. However, these are all are just rumors. We will have to wait for Samsung to shed some light on this, hopefully in early-July, if all is true.

Agreed. I find it hard to believe that a bump to 1.4Ghz would make it competitive to a suped-up A5 powered iPhone5 or 4GS. But possibly consumers will only compare the advertised clock speed and assume it’s apples to apples.

You mean androids to apples.

From what I’ve heard is that the plus version is the one they’re releasing in the US.

It would make the most sense if they would simply release the S2 plus as the US release. Why?
First of all they will make more money outselling Apple and other Androids.
Secondly, the difference between the two versions is negligible, so people with the non-plus version can’t really cry about it. No one will notice the .2 difference in actual use and it is irrelevant since the 1.2 version can be overclocked to 1.5 and directions on how to do so are already on the net.
Thirdly, the android version can be upgraded on the existing Galaxy S2 anyway. Either from the seller (eventually) or if you root the phone you can do it yourself. There are also apps that enable video calling.
The RAM is the same.
Who cares what you call the phone? Actually, Galaxy S2 is much cooler than the stupid names like Attain, Within, and Function. What morons came up with those names anyway?! They should be laid off. . . . ” What phone do you have? I have a Within, Oh, I have an Attain.” You have a WHAT!!??
I am anxious for this phone too. I want it in July. I would not pay extra for a Plus version.
Come on Samsung! Do this right and blow iPhone 5 out of the water in the US.

ps. I am currently using an iPhone3Gs and can’t wait to switch.

I hope your right about the + being the one coming to US, because I dont want to be in a position to have to wait again. My fear is the + will be more than just .2 on the cpu.

The S2 plus looks amazing some of the rumored specs are amazing. Im a fan of Android and i own the Droid X but honestly no matter what the iPhone 5 will most likely sell more and keep most of theyre customers simply because people think that Apple is like the god of technology and think theyre products are the best. Its summer and soo many kids in my school are buying the iPhone 4 now because they still think its the best phone although there so many other phones out that are much better than it. Half the people who buy phones dont pay attention to specs beside the size of the screen and camera
